We are committed to ensuring they are treated fairly and in line with internationally accepted standards.” said Alistair Burt, Minister responsible for consular matters in North America following a letter from Roger to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office regarding the conditions under which Babar Ahmad and Syed Ahsan were being held.
Roger said: “I am encouraged but not complacent about the response from the Minister particularly so as consular staff have been in touch with both men, and members of their families, and are providing consular assistance.
