There will therefore be no right of appeal against the refusal of a family visit visa application made after the implementation date, unless the appeal is on human rights or race discrimination grounds. Refused applicants will have to submit a new application. The government believes the changes will bring appeal rights for visitors coming to see family members into line with those for all other visitor categories. Others believe that it is just another cost cutting exercise.
