Solidarity and sympathy to the people of Paris

Roger sends his solidarity and deepest sympathies to the people of Paris following the appalling terrorist attacks on Friday. His thoughts are with the families of those killed and injured.
He commented: “This massacre was an act of war against France, and an attempt to undermine the French people’s way of life and our own. We cannot allow this to happen. The French values of freedom of thought, religion and conscience, their separation of church and state, and their welcoming and acceptance of people from all over the world are shown to be even more precious following this crazed act of terror and intolerance.
“I was in Baku in Azerbaijan on an all-party parliamentary visit when the attacks took place. I and my Parliamentary colleagues went to the French embassy in Baku to express our sympathy with the people of France, and to join with the mourners there. People in the UK and around the world are united in our support of France and our condemnation of those with no respect for human life. The value we place on all human life, regardless of people’s nationality, race or religion, will not be conquered by acts of terrorism.”
