I extend congratulations to my Chinese constituents on the occasion of the Chinese New Year – the Year of the Monkey.

8th February marks the start of the biggest event in the Chinese calendar and up to 15 days of celebrations.

 This year is the Year of the Monkey and people born in the Year of the Monkey are characterised as quick-witted, curious, innovative and mischievous.

  The Chinese New Year is a great time for family and friends to celebrate and an excellent opportunity for generations to come together to share plans for the forthcoming year and to reflect on the past year.

I extend greetings to all my Chinese constituents on this happy occasion.
